Prayer to Virgin Mary, our Church’s patron saint

The Hail Mary, or the Angelic greeting is one of the most important prayer of the Christian, Catholic believers. It is an important part
of the rosary’s prayers. The text melds Bible quotes into one; it was poured into this form in the middle ages. The first sentence
the salutation of the angelic greetings itself, the second sentence is the greetings of Elizabeth, the other half of the prayer is
about the Church.
The starting point of the prayer is the New Testament story, when Gabriel archangel informs Virgin Mary about the conception of Jesus
(this event not identical with the unstained conception!), then Mary visits his relative, Elizabeth. Lukas’s gospel tells both stories:

Hail Mary, full of grace.
The Lord is with thee.
Blessed are thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit
of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God.
Pray for us sinners,
now and at the hour of our death.
The meaning of the prayer

The prayer originally is the man’s autonomous action, a kind of self-expression. In almost all cultures there is a need for the unit expresson of
transcendens-experience, and it comes from the people’s community existence. The practice of the individual and community prayer lives beside each
other generally in the religions, mostly in an interaction with each other.

There is a practice in almost all religions, that have some regulation for declare the frameworks of the community, and the individual prayer.

The folk paryer on the Hungarian countries was popular with the Roman one and the Greek Catholics primarily, but we know scattered data from
reformed and evangelic folk paryer. On the folk’s language these texts’s name is simply prayer, paryer.

The general time of praying apart from the holidays of the ecclesiastical year is the morning and the evening, the Friday day, the Lent period,
and under trials, the people often turn to the folk paryer, but fundamentally we can pray anytime and everywhere we want.

Praying has not got a typical rite-like procession, we can do it on the road, when we are working, around the table, only the prayer
modus operandi defined the manner of the rite (for example with rosary, or with a closed eye). Because individual worship was attached to it,
bequeathing happened inside a family, and only little data bears witness to the fact that the folk paryer were productive folklore
creations actively.

Considering its content elements, the Mary lyre, and the suffering story of Jesus dominate powefully in our paryers.
Among the Hungarian nationalities her name known as Blessed Virgin.
Our Father’s paryer

Our Father who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come.
Thy will be done
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us,
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom,
and the power, and the glory,
for ever and ever

The revelation was fulfilled in Christ. He taught the paternoster to the people, while he took the psalms from them. We find its full text in Saint Matthew’s gospel (6,9-13); Saint Lucas wrote down (11,1-2) when Jesus said it. Old Testament is there in all of his sentences, and fulfillment in Christ, too, all contents a personal call for us.

Christ deserved the mercy of the adopted boy’s for us, we may take it over from him because of this, and we may say it:
Our Father who art in heaven!

Moses met with the saint, fearsome, standing above all creature (transcented) God. Christ, as a high priest, sanctified God’s name with sacrifice, which is propitiatory and praising simultaneously – God’s name sanctifies in us. And this began already in the baptism:

Hallowed be thy name

God forged a nation from the scattered Jewish folk, then a country. King David, as Jesus’s prefiguration, indicated God’s coming to his country. Christ, as a king proclaimed that God’s country came. We are Christ’s blood and the prospective citizens of the country which got by his suffering.

Thy kingdom come.

The kingdom of Israel is fragile: the folk learns to discover God’s will in the exile, suffering.
Christ, as a prophet fulfilled his Father’s will; he wanted this even on the Oil Tree Mountain. We have to fill the will of God on the land:

Thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.

God ensured the folk in everything which he revealed himself (for example the mana in the desert).
Christ, as a high priest gave eternal food to the people in the Eucaristia. We may ask our celestial (and earthly) bread with confidence:

Give us this day our daily bread

The sin is a debt which is opposite from God’s rule, and He can delete it only. Christ, as a king Christ, than a king grants the power of the dissolution bond to his apostles. We may be forgiven only, if we are forgiving:

And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us

From the first temptation, there is an opportunity for that the human will starting to resist with God’s will (Adam, Cain, etc.) – In the interest of the fulfilment of God’s will, even Christ had to bring his own sacrifice.
We may resist the temptation if we can say:

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

And all that, which we asked, close with this word with total devotion:

The Apostles’ Creed ( Credo)

We call the summary of the most important truths of our faith the Apostles’ Creed because its elements goes back onto the apostles. This is the ancient rule of faith. It was said in the baptism at first, later on ceremonies. It is not just only a creed, but a paryer, too: an admirer viewing of God’s secrets, thanksgiving for the declared faithfulness, and a fidelity statement to God. Not only a speech, which speaking to God can be a prayer, but what is about God, too. Besides of ceremonies, we should avail this regularly onto the strengthening of our faith.

I believe in God, the Father almighty,
creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, God’s only Son, our Lord,
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried;
he descended into hell.
On the third day he rose again;
he ascended into heaven,
he is seated at the right hand of the Father,
and he will come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy catholic Church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting. Amen.
The glorification of the Trinity (little doxology)

The Holy Trinity advertises God’s eternal glory, and the church applies it added to other paryer from the first centuries.
Glory for the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, how initially, now and eternally. Amen.

Or singing:
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

In Latin:
Gloria Patri et Filio et Spiritui Sancto, sicut erat in principio, et nunc et semper et in saecula saeculorum. Amen.
